Cornacchioli and Jensen won for exemplary dedication and
outstanding achievement in promoting engineering activities
in precollege education.
Robert and James’
partnership started in 1996. Throughout the years, they
worked on several projects. Some examples include: NetdDay,
a town wide engineering event; the Solar Sprint program,
which has become an annual event at the Shrewsbury Middle
School; and with the help of James’ wife, Dottie, they
created a summer school program using Lego Mindstorm Robots
for elementary students.
Their award was
presented at the IEEE-USA Award Banquet and Ceremony held in
conjunction with the IEEE-USA Leadership Workshop on 4 March
2006 in St. Louis, Missouri.
