Committee on Communications Policy (CCP)

Mission Statement

The Committee on Communications Policy (CCP) promotes formulation of sound legislation, regulation and policies relating to communications technologies. Committee members have focused on such issues as spectrum efficiency, high-performance computing, RFID, digital high-resolution systems, personal communications systems, and privacy.

Meetings are generally held in IEEE-USA's Washington DC office from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (EST). Visitors are welcome and active participation is encouraged.

Participation

CCP invites IEEE U.S. members who have and interest in public policy coupled with expertise in the field of computers, communications, and Internet technology and who are willing to be active contributors to the committee's activities to join the committee as an Internet Corresponding Member. As an ICM, you will be invited to recommend committee activities, comment on draft position statements and testimonies, and otherwise participate in the business of the committee. To become an ICM, please provide a brief description of your interest and expertise in this area (no more that 250 words) and submit to:

The IEEE RFID 2009 was held on April 27-28, 2009, in Orlando, Florida. This was the third in a series of annual conferences dedicated to address the technical and policy challenges in the areas of radio frequency identification (RFID) technologies, their supporting large-scale distributed information systems, and their applications.
