Description of Award To honor members of the engineering profession for long-term dedicated effort and outstanding accomplishments in advancing the aims of IEEE professional activities in the United States

2016 Recipient: Dr. Charles Alexander (Region 2)
Citation: For leadership in professional activities, the development of professional and student programs, and the support and mentorship of IEEE-USA volunteers

Award for Distinguished Public Service

Description of Award To honor individuals not currently in the practice of engineering for contributions to furthering the professional goals of IEEE in the United States. (These goals may by furthered by such means as promulgating laws or regulations benefiting the profession; influencing industrial environments to foster professionalism; creating curricula or publications designed to enhance professionalism; and other similar activities.)

2016 Recipient: Kevin Johnson (Region 1)
Citation:  For sustained leadership in furthering reform of noncompete agreements in employment contracts
