Contact: IEEE-USA Announces 1999 Competition: Outstanding Precollege Education Activities in IEEE Sections Washington, June 14, 1999 -- One of the goals of the IEEE-USA Precollege Education Committee is to increase the participation of IEEE members in K-12 education and related activities at the local level. To recognize the most outstanding of these activities, the Committee is pleased to anounce a competition to select three pre-eminent projects. The reward for winning the competition will be participation for one leader of each of the three selected projects in the 1999 IEEE-USA Professional Development Conference over labor Day weekend, Sept. 3-6, in Dallas. To enter the competition, complete a project description form and submit it to the Precollege Education Committee, c/o Ann Hartfiel at the IEEE-USA Office. You may download the form from the web at www.ewh.ieee.org/cmte/pcollege/ or call the IEEE-USA Office at 202-785-0017, ext. 341, to request a hard copy of the form. The deadline for receipt of project descriptions is July 15. The projects selected will be announced by July 25. The IEEE-USA Precollege Education Committee will reimburse the travel expenses of the IEEE member associated with each of the selected projects.
