Vice President to Discuss His New Offshoring Book

will discuss his new book with Bruce Mehlman, executive director of the
Computer Systems Policy Project and former assistant secretary of
commerce for technology policy, Department of Commerce; Shang-Jin Wei of
the International Monetary Fund and director
of the National Bureau of Economic Research Working Group on the Chinese
Economy; and BusinessWeek commentator Aaron Bernstein. |

AUTHORS: |
Dr. Ron Hira, P.E., an assistant
professor of public policy at the Rochester Institute of Technology, is
a recognized offshoring expert and has testified twice before Congress
on its implications. In addition to his IEEE-USA leadership post, he has
discussed offshoring on national television (CNN's Lou
Dobbs Tonight and NOW with Bill Moyers) and radio (Marketplace).
He penned a column for the San Jose Mercury News and has been
quoted in the New York Times, Washington Post, Time,
Newsweek, Wall Street Journal, Financial Times and
the Times of London, among others.
Dr. Anil Hira specializes in international economic policy and trade
issues and provides insight into the larger trends of globalization and
how developing countries attract high-tech industries and high-skill
jobs. He is a professor of political science and Latin American studies
at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. |
