Introduce a Girl to Engineering Goes International

U.S. IEEE member Dr. Sylvia Wilson-Thomas addressed the international community of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) associated with the United Nations Department of Public Information (DPI) on 25 March, at the United Nations. Wilson-Thomas, a former chair of IEEE-USA's Career & Workforce Policy Committee,  was one of four panelists invited to brief some 150 international NGO representatives on “Girls and Technology: New Educational Opportunities.” The IEEE's participation in the Briefing was an extension of its role as co-chair of National Engineers Week 2004 (EWeek), and its ongoing commitment to EWeek's Introduce a Girl to Engineering initiative.
