Overview

This in an introductory presentation providing an overview of the contents of a nonprovisional utility patent application and drafting a patent application. This presentation does not cover specific requirements for filing or procedures for responding to Office actions.

About the Presenter

Darnell Jayne is a 26 year veteran at the USPTO, and currently supervises a team of primary examiners who specialize in working with unrepresented independent inventors as part of the USPTO's current Pro Se Assistance Program. Darnell works closely with the Office of Innovation Development at the USPTO, and has assisted in technology transfer, independent inventor, and small business outreach initiatives. Darnell received a BSME from the University of Central Florida and a JD from George Mason University School of Law. She resides in Arlington, VA and is married to an IEEE Member.
