The Sherman Act, the Clayton
Act and the Robinson-Patman Act
are the principal antitrust statutes
signed into law in the United States.

Presenter Biography:
David M. Ostfeld, an attorney with
Strasburger & Price, LLP in Houston, has
represented clients for more than 30
years. His areas of specialty include:
intellectual property, international
transactions, domestic transactions,
antitrust and anti-competition issues,
customs, export regulation, contract
transactions, technology agreements and
franchise law matters.
Ostfeld has given testimony and advice
to the U.S. Trade Representative,
various committees of the U.S. Senate
and House of Representatives, the White
House, the U.S. Patent Office and the U.
S. Departments of Commerce, State,
Energy and Justice concerning
competitiveness, technology and
intellectual property issues for the
United States. He is an arbitrator with
the American Arbitration Association and
the International Chamber of Commerce.
For 10 years, he was a practicing
engineer, working for Tenneco, Inc.
Fluor and Union Carbide.
Ostfeld received his Juris Doctorate,
summa cum laude from South Texas School
of Law in 1972. While in law school, he
was a member of Law Review. He received
his bachelor of arts degree in physics
(1963), bachelor of science degree in
electrical engineering (1964) and master
of science, summa cum laude, in control
systems engineering (1965) from
Washington University in St. Louis.
