IEEE-USA Intellectual Property Professionals Initiative Presents First Seminar:
The New Patent Law and What it Means to You

Download:  Info/Agenda (PDF)

An exposition of the largest change in patent law since 1870 with an emphasis towards helping inventors and engineering managers mitigate risks, protect their inventions, and adapt their R&D and business practices to this new law.

The IEEE-USA IP Professionals initiative is a program to educate engineer-inventors and attorney/agent practitioners on evolving IP issues.  Recent implementation of the America Invents Act (AIA) has driven IEEE-USA to help educate attorney-members and engineers on patent law changes so they can better align their business practices.  Through a combination of IEEE Section outreach and partnership with other organizations, IEEE-USA is providing education on patent law changes, publication of educational/scholarly works, and forums for collaborating on patent law issues.

The following recent Section event at George Mason University was captured at the request of members who recognized the caliber of our speakers, but could not attend the event.  Please share this event with your colleagues.  Our selection of speakers was based on their participation in public policy discussions over the past five years as the AIA maturated through Congress and their presentations reflect concerns, as well as benefits of the legislation. This makes these presentations doubly valuable to IEEE's members chartered with implementing structural changes within their organizations in response to enactment of AIA.
