EST 22 January 2009 Title: Being an Effective Section or
Chapter PACE Leader Presenter: Dr. Charles Rubenstein,
Region 1 Director-Elect Webinar Information: This webinar

Chapter PACE, how they interface with
their Regional and Division/Society PACE
Coordinators and the IEEE-USA PACE
Committee. It will also include
information on how to apply for PACE
Project Funding and the importance of
participating in the IEEE-USA Annual
Meeting.
Dr. Rubenstein is the Region 1
Director-Elect, has served as a Division
PACE Coordinator as well as a member of
the IEEE-USA Board of Directors and is a

2:00pm
EST 27 January 2009 Title: IEEE Global History Network Presenter: Dr. John Vardalas, IEEE
History Center Outreach Historian Webinar Information: The webinar will
discuss the IEEE GHN's goals, contents,
and features. This webinar will show how
it easy it is for IEEE members to log-on
and participate directly in creating the
public historical record of electrical,
electronics and computer technologies.
The IEEE Global History Network (GHN) is
a bold, new website dedicated to the
histories of electrical. electronics and
computer technologies. The IEEE GHN is a
wiki like Wikipedia. But unlike
Wikipedia, IEEE GHN encourages more far
more diverse historical content. Like
Wikipedia anyone can explore the IEEE
GHN, but unlike Wikipedia, writing to
the IEEE GHN is restricted to IEEE
members, other technical authorities,
and professional historians. With the
IEEE GHN, IEEE members can be active
collaborators in the writing of history.
They can share their past experiences in
designing, developing, testing,
manufacturing, and commercializing new
products and services. On the IEEE GHN,
users can debate the ideas surrounding
history of technological progress. The
IEEE GHN also empowers IEEE members to
collaborate in documenting the histories
of their Societies, Regions, and
Sections |
