Hutcheson, CEO & President, Odyssey Group Inc
Every Leader's Top Ten: Learn about the
elements that leaders need to pay attention to including:
motivating volunteers, managing their own career and supporting
career development for those in their section/chapter,
delegating for development and much more.
Peggy Hutcheson, PhD., CEO & President, The Odyssey
Group Inc. is know for her creativity and leadership in
consulting, career development, and training. Peggy is
skilled in helping organizations develop strategically-aligned
human resource systems and processes. She has worked with
organizations of all sizes and in all sectors to design and
implement programs that make a difference in improving the
capability of the organization's workforce and in positioning
the organization for success in the future. Peggy has
served as an IEEE-USA volunteer leader for over 10 years.
She has served as Chair of the IEEE-USA Careers Conference and
as a committee member of both the IEEE-USA Career Maintenance
& Development and the Employment & Career Services
Committees.

This program will be repeated three times so that all
participants will have the opportunity to receive a legislative
briefing and will include a Q&A session on IEEE-USA's
grassroots priorities for 2004. Each participant will
receive a take-away pack of action alerts on the priority
issues, as well as a PowerPoint presentation (with speaker's
notes) that can be used to highlight IEEE-USA's grassroots
priorities and program in a section PACE presentation.
Program B: What Can IEEE-USA Do to Help Me Find and
Retain my Job - Jean Eason,

An interactive tutorial on writing effective advocacy letters to
Congress and holding an effective meeting with your elected
representatives. Participants will practice acquired
skills in role-playing exercises. Session will include an
overview of related IEEE-USA government relations
programs. Training and materials will enable interested
participants to give similar training as a local PACE activity.
TRACK C: LOCAL PROGRAMS (LOCAL CONSULTANTS'
NETWORK,
MPAC AND SPAC)
Workshop C1: The Nuts & Bolts of Starting Your Own
Local Consultants Network -

TRACK D: LEADERSHIP SKILLS & PROJECT MANAGEMENT
Workshop D1: Performance Leadership for
Individuals: Leveraging Your Strengths -

Hear from one of the nations foremost experts on the development
and utilization of knowledge workers. This workshop is
geared to help people understand how they can use their
self-knowledge to maximize their personal job satisfaction and
performance. Participants will learn how to accelerate
their learning and expand their contributions to the success of
the organization. You will be able to apply these skills
at your job as well as within your IEEE activities.
Workshop D2: Development of Leadership Skills &
Project Management for
Sections/Chapters & PACE Activities - Charles Rubenstein
& Tarek
Lahdhiri (4:00 - 5:30 pm)
The first half of this workshop will introduce participants to
interpersonal, group, team and leadership skills. The
format for the workshop is through interactive participation,
using several exercises and case studies. The skills
developed are appropriate for application in management or
leadership positions in various types of organizations including
business, industry or volunteer activities.
The second half of this workshop is for everybody who wants to
use Project Management to accomplish, in IEEE, at work, home, or
in the community. You learn basic project management
techniques, and how to apply them in real life! This
workshop is highly interactive with several exercises.
