Past President of the IEEE Reliability Society worldwide, he specializes in: Reliability Predictions, MTBF analysis of electrical and electro-mechanical systems; including FMEA's and Fault Trees. Other consulting tasks have included Safety Integrity Level and Hazard Analysis. In addition he has performed Structural Analysis of antennas. He was Director of Region 6 (60,000 members) and in 2004 & 2005 he was on the IEEE Board of Directors as Technical Director. Mr. Doyle has an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of California, Irvine and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Oregon State University.

For printed circuit boards, electronics, and controls, the MIL HDBK-217 prediction procedure is typically used with military systems and the Belcore/Telcordia prediction program with telecom and commercial systems. There is normally no charge for the initial consultation. Subsequent work is performed under a written contract on either a fixed price or fee basis.

Software Tool Expertise: Predictions utilize the new Relex RBD program for reliability block diagram modeling. This permits Monte Carlo calculations and modeling of complex systems, including bridge networks, switching probabilities, switching time, and spares considerations. Reliability predictions for electronic systems and controls are performed using software for either the MIL HDBK-217 procedure or the Relex Telcordia procedure.
