Engineers Week Highlights (17-23 Feb. 2008)

Each year, IEEE-USA supports a number of activities in conjunction with Engineers Week, the annual celebration of engineering and their contributions to society.  2008 highlights include:

More than 7,500 people – mostly elementary school children and their parents – attended the Discover Engineering Family Day  festival at the National Building Museum to kick off Engineers Week activities in the Washington area. The attendance was the second-highest in Family Day history. IEEE-USA, a major event sponsor, gave away calculators and flying discs. Local IEEE members gave hands-on presentations to help explain electrical principles. Interested children received a breadboard project kit to take home.
